I‘m Cindi Taylor, a Certified Sandals Specialist with Taylored Tours. I recently returned from an incredible vacation at the Sandals Resort in Grenada with my husband. The resort, the beach, the food & cocktails, the water-sports, and the quality of service were top notch. I’d love to help you plan your vacation to Sandals Grenada so you can experience this incredible resort and country.
We vacationed in October 2020 during the pandemic and the resort had just reopened to guests…all staff followed safety protocols by wearing masks. We felt very fortunate to be among the first guests visiting the resort since its reopening.
Sandals All-Inclusive Resort – Grenada
Sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, Sandals Grenada is located along the beautiful Pink Gin Beach on the southernmost tip of Grenada. The island is volcanic with some beautiful black sand beaches. There are rainforests, a great array of sightseeing and tour options.
Sandals Grenada Resort & Spa epitomizes luxury with 4 villages: The Pink Gin Village, The South Seas Village, The Italian Village and The Lover’s Hideaway Village. Just five minutes from Grenada’s international airport, the adults-only Sandals Grenada features 257 rooms and suites. Personalized butler services are available in 69 Suites, which include Swim Up Pool Suites, Rondovals and Skypool Suites.
The Sandals Resort Grenada is considered by many as the most spectacular resort in the hotel chain. After my visit, I have to agree that this resort is absolutely stunning.
When you arrive at Sandals Grenada, you’ll see that it looks exactly like the photos featured here and on Sandals’ website. It’s a state-of-the-art resort and spa that kindles and rekindles the fires of romance.
Flying to Grenada
Unlike some other Caribbean countries that offer multiple flights daily, your flights in and out of Grenada are very limited. Nothing impossible, but it does take a little more planning. American Airlines has a daily non-stop service from Miami. Delta offers a weekly non-stop service from Atlanta. jetBlue operates a daily non-stop service from New York. If you don’t live near one of these locations, you will need a connecting flight.
We overnighted in Miami, and took the 3.5 hour flight to Grenada the next day. There is only one flight in and one flight out each day, so plan accordingly. The best part about the airport in Grenada is the commute…. it is less than 5 minutes from the resort! But, don’t worry, you don’t have to walk. Sandals provides a complimentary shuttle to the resort.
Arriving at Sandals Grenada
Upon arrival, we were greeted by several Sandals Grenada butlers. Talk about a warm welcome! After we checked in, we were introduced to our butler, Leanna, and she proceeded to provide us with a brief tour of the resort on the way to our room.
Sandals Grenada Rooms
This resort has 257 rooms in 22 different categories, split between the standard Luxury Level, Club Level, and Butler Level, so there is a perfect room for everyone and every budget. Despite the huge variance in price points, there truly isn’t a bad room to be found at Sandals Grenada, with each having its own unique selling point. Many rooms, including the Pink Gin Beachfront Suites, have private decks with romantic outdoor soaking tubs, and while decks can face directly out onto pathways or toward neighboring rooms, there are curtains for full privacy.
The Skypool Penthouse Suites in the Italian Village have a spacious living/dining room, a butler pantry, and a large balcony with a striking private infinity plunge pool and an outdoor soaking tub. The excellent Rondoval Suites are a unique kind of circular cottage with a cone shaped, thatched roof. The Rondovals have excellent bathrooms with a large, round stone tub, and private patios with waterfall pools and whirlpool tubs. These suites would be perfect for honeymooners!
Butlers at Sandals Grenada
One of the quickest ways to take your vacation up a notch is to choose a butler level room. Sandals Resorts’ Butlers are highly and professionally trained by the Guild of Professional English Butlers, which means you’re guaranteed the highest level of service.
Our butlers for the week were Leanna, Crystal, and Kirt. No request was ever too much for them, and they were so personable and fun! When you opt for butler service, you’ll be given a mobile phone with a direct line to your butler team, so they can be reached 24/7.
Sandals is located along Pink Gin Beach, Grenada. The beach has soft white sand sprinkled with black volcanic sand that sparkles against the warm, protected bay. A perfect setting for relaxing…there are a variety of daybeds, lounge chairs, and hammocks near the warm Caribbean. There are also two lovely piers with lounge chairs and a gazebo near the water-sports area.
You will also find floating loungers in the ocean that you and your partner can share (an added bonus… they have drink holders for your cocktails!).
The Pools at Sandals Resort Grenada
There are two main pools on-site, the Pink Gin Village Pool and the South Seas Main Pool
• Pink Gin Village Pool- Closest to the beach, no music is played here during the day so you can fully relax. It’s especially gorgeous at night, when the gas fireplace nestled in the middle is lit up.
• South Seas Main Pool- This spot has a fun Vegas vibe to it, with a live DJ, swim-up bar, huge loungers, floaties, cabanas, and fun activities throughout the day.
Dining at Sandals Grenada
There are 10 fabulous restaurants (all included) on site, and 6 bars (including swim-up bars). The restaurants are all 5 star global gourmet dining and include:
Le Jardinier – French cuisine
Kimonos – Japanese Teppanyaki prepared tableside
Soy – fresh sushi in an Asian setting
Spices – featuring international buffet breakfast and Pan-Caribbean lunch and dinner
Cucina Romana – savory Italian
Butch’s Chophouse – signature steakhouse
Dinos Pizzeria – brick oven pizzas
Cafe De Paris – Parisian-style patisserie
The Tipsy Turtle Pub – an authentic British Gastropub
Neptune’s – Fresh seafood and Mediterranean cuisine set directly on the beach.
There are a few restaurants at Sandals Grenada that require reservations, so you want to make sure you plan those in advance.
The Resort Grounds
While the resort extends over 17 acres, the layout is easy to navigate. When you explore the grounds of this exotic island paradise, you’ll not only take in the spectacular views, you’ll also smell intoxicating scents of spice and tropical blooms. This, combined with the romantic touches such as fire pits, gazebos, and couples’ lounge chairs on a pier overlooking the water, makes the resort distinctly Sandals.
Water-sports at Sandals Grenada
The majority of the water-sports are included at Sandals Grenada…kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, sailing, windsurfing, glass bottom boat excursions. Grenada boasts the first underwater sculpture park in the Caribbean and has some of the most breathtaking dive sites. Daily scuba diving (and equipment) is included if you are a certified diver. There are a select few dives which will attract an additional charge, but most are included. If you are a beginner, Discover Scuba Diving is available at an additional charge.
Nightlife and Entertainment
When the sun goes down, the night is transformed into something magically exotic. Night shows feature the excitement of top-rate entertainers and the thrill of authentic island culture. Each night features a different theme. Be sure to check out the chocolate buffet on White Night Under the Stars!
Non-Romantic Getaways at Sandals Grenada
Sandals is not just for couples, it is for adults. Sandals is great for groups of friends, best friends, bachelors or bachelorettes, work friends, mother & daughter getaways and more!
Safety Protocols During the Pandemic
We vacationed in October 2020 during the pandemic and the resort had just reopened to guests…all staff followed safety protocols by wearing masks (as you can see in the photos). We felt very fortunate to be among the first guests visiting the resort since its reopening. When we traveled, we were required to provide negative Covid tests prior to boarding our flight from Miami and again when we arrived at the Grenada airport. When you plan your trip with Taylored Tours, we can help you locate the necessary testing requirements and documents needed when traveling to Grenada.
Safety protocols at the Sandals Grenada property were as follows: There were hand sanitizing stations throughout the resort, at entrances and inside all restaurants and you were required to use them before entering the restaurants. Temperature checks were taken at all restaurants before entering. All staff wore masks. The rooms were sanitized thoroughly (see above photo).
Pricing for an All- Inclusive Vacation at Sandals Grenada
